I find it funny how the only person to sincerely praise Bashverza's hard work and efforts is the person his wrath and hatred is turned towards, I am not surprised it wasn't enough to faze him to lose some control over his powers but I am glad it did catch him off guard for a bit.

It does make it sadder for Dariel that he wanted to be beside Bashverza but Bashverza is the one that pushed him aside and now treats him as if he is some traitor.

I find it amusing how Zebiantes is sort of treated like some kind of taxi service lol.

DragonsBlueEmber321 • 1 year ago

When you look at it though, it makes a lot of sense. This entire time bashverza saw dariel as his enemy, because dariel received all the praise that he wanted growing up. And because of that jealousy, he only ever saw dariel as someone that he had to "1 up" growing up.

The problem with that, is that every time he attempted to 1 up dariel, it was never enough, and so his anger and jealousy grew larger and larger until it became full fledged hatred. If he had just taken the time to step back and realize that dariel was never the reason for his animosity in the first place, he wouldn't have wasted his entire life trying to be better than him.

Instead, he would have learned to use what HE had to receive praise. Like bashverza has such immense magical talents, and if he had just used those from the beginning, he would have received praise that dariel could never have outshone him in. But he made his whole life trying to out do dariel, and show everyone that he didn't need dariel's help.

Dreamblade • 1 year ago

He needs a healthy dose of "Stop bein' a bitch!"

bernd3 • 1 year ago

let's be real though, literally every sentence in the demon realm was like "oh, how great dariael managed this/if only dariel was here to do this/etc."

no wonde rhe came to hate the dariel dude that everyone was squirting and fangirling for -.-

braveboar • 1 year ago

Nah. The dude already had it out for Darial when he fired him from the Army.

Mæx Wellington • 9 months ago

Everyone was praising Dariel because he was doing so much for others and giving his all for them. Similar to the anime Beast Tamer, he took on a bit of everyone's load to the point that he became invaluable.

Meanwhile, Bash was selfishly focused on himself, ignoring his subordinates, his staff, his duties, all in search for recognition. I think DragonBlue had it right: if he strained his eyes past his own nose, then Bash would have understood that his own father's strength came by his resolve to be strong for others and not himself. Following such a revelation, he'd learn to soften, be compassionate, and might have even become a better general than his own father.

The praise he was seeking was still due to his own self centeredness.

I’m not sure about the one upping because he probably put himself on a pedestal and was angry everyone told him “with dariel it’d be better, with dariel you wouldn’t have failed.” He probably had a superiority complex and everyone praising dariel didn’t help.

Deus The Great • 1 year ago

He will spread his legs for Dariel eventually.

Also, i started to think the only reason that Zebiantes becomes one of the general in the demon army because of her being convenience for transportation lmao.

I wish! Unfortunately, that's unlikely to happen.

MeguminExplosion • 1 year ago

This is what happens frequently in an Asian family household. What happens is the oldest kid gets ignored by the family because "older one should take the L for their little siblings".

So after years of the little sibling getting spoiled and loved the double standard treatment basically. You have a salty asf older sibling.

You have the older sibling become the villain.

Oldest one pay for their own school but family wants them to pay for their siblings college.

Oldest one getting told no but the sibling who asks for the same thing gets one. Whether it is the family business, gifted a car, or a house.

Next week we have have a lot of salty viewers because the antagonist doesn't get punished like everyone wants him to

QuadL • 1 year ago

Dariel is the older though. He was looking out for his younger half-bro all the time and that younger sill got the Generalship and all that went with it. It's a mind wist hat was laid on him from his mother as they say in the musical "South Pacific" You've got to be taught to hate and fear, you've got to be taught from year to year, you've got to be carefully taught.

Dreamblade • 1 year ago

Yeah he'll probably see the error of his ways and shit but as far as we know, he didn't actually kill anyone yet. Even if he doesn't die it was still a nice show.

I just hope Bashbarza goes down in history as "Dariel's brother".

bernd3 • 1 year ago

is it weird that I am kind of rooting for the "antagonist"?

Like, i know that dariel did nothing wrong and never even though about if stuff could trigger the dude.
but the way everyone fangirled like crazy for dariel, even when he was long gone, must have been annoying as hell.

and those hypocrits, that kicked dariel out, suddenly turned into backstabbing wimps with their "maybe we should get dariel back again?"

braveboar • 1 year ago

The other heavenly King's only followed Bashbaza's lead. It was his call right from the start. What he didn't realise is that Darial is an extremely effective administrator fulfilling g a number ber of different roles. He is the guy all the tedious shit was left to sort out so they could focus on they needed to do. Today generals and King's are administrators. Back 2hen they used to be Warriors fighting alongside their men, they relied on having effective administrators they could leave to managing things. Without that, everything falls apart. The praise for Darial is that he was an effective and efficient administrator. That is all.

Dreamblade • 1 year ago

What you call "back-stabbing wimps" I call "recognizing their mistake". And one of the four generals was against firing Dariel from the beginning.

Bromomentonumerodos • 8 months ago

they fired him and everything went to shit, if you're incompetent and hate that everyone likes a competent person more than you that's on you

vovan1 • 1 year ago

yeah poor Bashverza, i hope he wins!

@Nan DemoK(NAl)ves

I saw this happen in the work place. A lady coworker did an exceptional job on a project. A male coworker sincerely praised her for it. Next thing I know, I'm called into HR to testify about the alleged male coworker's sexual harassment of the female coworker. Seems she didn't like him, so she twisted his words into some sort of sexual pass at her.

So, it happens RL too.

meh. when i was 17 i took classes off campus in the local library. one time there was a mother with a daughter who must've been around 5-8 years old. kid was running through the aisles, and the mom is just chatting up some other person while her kid is literally 3-4 rows out of sight. i told her she should keep an eye on her kid, it's not safe to let her wander so far on her own.

next day i show up to classes and the teacher wants to know why she got a complaint from a parent about me stalking her daughter. now, maybe i just have bad luck with women (as in, less than a fifth of the ones i have met deserve respect over disgust). but in my own personal experience a woman's spite runs deep and prefers slander over force. they know time can mend wounds, that's why they go for your image.

in all seriousness, the three biggest issues in the world right now are megalomania, slander, and egotism. you'd be surprised just how many issues stem from some combination of those three things.

Dreamblade • 1 year ago

Women like that are only destroying their own reputation. I feel sorry for her daughter though.

Montano • 1 year ago

The three biggest issues in the world? Friend, in my opinion, it boils down to DOMINANCE. Money? We want enough to control our future, feel secure, and influence those around us. It's all about DOMINANCE.

Why I keep writing that word in caps is beyond me.

Kevin Sears • 1 year ago

one of the great wars in greek mythology, specifically, before Zues's generation, when the titans fought with the Hecatoncheries(hundred handed giants) Briareus, Cottus, and Gyges, and the first generation cyclopes: Arges, Steropes, and Berontes (not to be confused with the OTHER cyclopes that were born of Poseidon, these 3 were born of Gaia and Uranos) Both sides had dozens of named monsters fighting under them as well, they would end up rending Gaia, she wakes up, and gets really angry, Nyx and Erebus has to put her back to sleep, but not before she takes out the armies on the ground (titans had flying chariots and survive) in doing so, Nyx herself is forced to sleep, THUS did the ancient Greeks explain Fossils in the ground., as well as why Nyx, the night sky, doesn't change much. the 6 giants are sealed in tartarus so as not to disturb Gaia, and as a side note: each of the 6 are as strong as 10 gods and are the next strongest beings to the Primals themselves. (fortunately for the titans, and later gods when Briareus gets out, theyre not the sharpest tools in the shed, as the original all muscle-no-brain stereotype)

When he asked, "Dariel, have you ever taken a tumble since becoming an adult?" I was almost sure it was a euphemism. I wasn't expecting him to say he wants to be a pampered child.
